What You'll Do9

  • 1Design and deliver public programs (in-person, hybrid, and asynchronous) that connect the Georgia Tech community to library services, collections, and spaces.
  • 2Develop programming that highlights collections, showcases Georgia Tech research, and responds to evolving campus needs and student interests.
  • 3Organize and deliver outreach initiatives that enhance student engagement, promote academic achievement, and foster community.
  • 4Lead program logistics, including scheduling, space coordination, partner communication, and event execution.
  • 5Collaborate with library colleagues to align programming with outreach, instruction, and institutional priorities.
  • 6Build and sustain partnerships with campus units and external collaborators to co-develop programs and extend reach.
  • 7Assess program effectiveness using feedback and participation data to inform continuous improvement.
  • 8Develop workflows and documentation to support consistent delivery and clear communication.
  • 9Stay current with trends and implement innovative approaches to enhance engagement, including developing proficiency in AI and emerging technologies.

Requirements8

  • 10-3 years of related experience in an academic library or similar setting.
  • 2An appropriate terminal degree, typically an ALA-accredited master's degree in library science or a related field.
  • 3Experience planning and delivering public programs, events, or outreach initiatives in an academic library or higher education setting.
  • 4Experience building and sustaining partnerships with campus units, students, faculty, staff, student organizations, and/or external collaborators.
  • 5Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and remain professional, resourceful, and composed.
  • 6Knowledge of current trends in academic libraries, student engagement, and public programming (e.g., student success, belonging, experiential learning).
  • 7Experience coordinating event logistics, including space management, scheduling, and vendor/partner communication.
  • 8Experience with or interest in delivering library instruction and/or research support services.
