What You'll Do10

  • 7Drive school improvement by participating in the school improvement plan and advocating for effective media programs.
  • 8Build relationships with students to discover reading interests and connect them with engaging materials.
  • 9Collect and analyze library usage data to inform program decisions and share results with stakeholders.

Requirements8

  • 1Master's degree in Library Science or related field.
  • 2Valid teaching license with K-12 School Library Media Coordinator certification.
  • 32+ years experience in a school library setting or related educational role.
  • 4Proficiency with MARC cataloging and Dewey Decimal classification.
  • 5Experience with Follett Destiny or similar library management system.
  • 6Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, students, and families.
  • 7Knowledge of NC Standard Course of Study and state library standards.
  • 8Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
