Overview

Works collaboratively with teachers to support student social-emotional learning skills. Promotes student success, provides preventive services, and responds to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic career and personal/social development for all students.

  • 4Perform other related duties as assigned
  • 5Maintain effective working relationships with school system staff students parents and the public

Requirements10

  • 1Extensive knowledge of federal state and local policies and procedures regarding counseling
  • 2Considerable knowledge of social-emotional learning best practices
  • 3Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint
  • 4Google Apps proficiency
  • 5Excellent organizational skills
  • 6Effective time management abilities
  • 7Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • 8Master’s degree in School Counseling
  • 9Five years of counseling experience in a public-school environment
  • 10Valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to North Carolina requirements
