What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the ASCA National Model
  • 2Monitor student progress and provide data informed, evidence based counseling decisions
  • 3Serve as a systems change agent to develop programming addressing college and career readiness
  • 4Spend 80% or more of time on direct and indirect services to students
  • 5Spend 20% or less of time on program planning and support
  • 6Support 504 processes and assist students in crisis situations
  • 7Remain current with federal and state laws and district policies related to college and career readiness
  • 8Collaborate with Special Education and other teams to support student needs
  • 9Assist with college and career readiness efforts and postsecondary options
  • 10Maintain communication with parents and district personnel to ensure student success

Requirements5

  • 1Master’s Degree in School Guidance and Counseling
  • 2Valid Arizona School Counselor Certification
  • 3Evidence of eligibility to be certified by the Arizona Department of Education
  • 4Three letters of recommendation
  • 5Transcript of credits showing advanced degree work and coursework
