Public Area Attendant, Hotel Housekeeping & Maintenance
Overview
You'll keep the hotel's public spaces spotless and guest-ready, from lobby to meeting rooms, at a Embassy Suites property in Houston. You'll own the daily cleaning routine, set up for events, and support the front desk with guest deliveries and shuttle runs. This role blends hands-on upkeep with guest interaction, offering variety and direct impact on the guest experience. What You'll Do10
- 1Clean and buff floors daily using auto-scrubbers and buffers to maintain a polished, safe surface.
- 2Shampoo carpets in public areas and furniture using extraction machines, following brand patterns and schedules.
- 3Maintain public restrooms throughout your shift, restocking supplies and sanitizing high-touch points.
- 4Set up and break down meeting rooms, arranging tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment according to event orders.
- 5Handle luggage assistance at check-in and checkout, moving items quickly and courteously to guest rooms.
- 6Drive the shuttle van for guest runs, following safe routes and maintaining a valid driver's license and clean MVR record.
- 7Deliver requested items to guest rooms, such as extra towels or amenities, within minutes of front desk requests.
- 8Complete the daily assignment checklist and return keys and reports to the Housekeeping or Front Office team.
- 9Support emergency procedures during overnight shifts, following protocols to ensure guest and associate safety.
- 10Clean guestrooms as needed, using housekeeping carts and stocking linens and supplies to brand standards.
Requirements8
- 1High School diploma or equivalent, or experience in a hotel or related field.
- 2Valid driver's license for the applicable state and an acceptable MVR record.
- 31-2 years in housekeeping or public area maintenance, preferably in a hotel setting.
- 4Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- 5Comfort using cleaning chemicals and operating floor machines, carpet extractors, and buffers.
- 6Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and associates.
- 7Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed.
- 8Must remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations, handling multiple requests calmly.
