Houseperson, Hotel Housekeeping & Public Area Maintenance
Overview
You own the cleanliness and order of all public spaces at Sheraton Brooklyn, from lobbies to restrooms. You keep guestrooms supplied and running, and you support the Executive Housekeeper with special projects. Work indoors and outdoors in all weather, with evenings, weekends, and holidays required. This role is hands-on and physical, perfect for someone who takes pride in a spotless hotel.
What You'll Do7
- 1Clean and maintain all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restaurants, bars, and restrooms.
- 2Run supplies and service items to guestrooms on request.
- 3Dust, vacuum, polish metalwork, and maintain furniture throughout the hotel.
- 4Collect soiled linens for laundering and stock clean linens in assigned areas.
- 5Remove trash from all areas and clean outdoor arrival zones like the porte cochere.
- 6Refurnish public spaces with supplies as needed.
- 7Attend monthly department meetings and complete projects assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
Requirements7
- 1Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and carry objects up to 25 lbs.
- 2Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, seeing, and feeling.
- 3Read and execute banquet event orders at a minimum reading level.
- 4Perform simple math, including addition and subtraction.
- 5Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- 6Be available evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 7Learn simple procedures and perform routine tasks repetitively.
Salary Insight
