Overview
The Proposal Manager leads strategic pursuits from qualification through award. This role coordinates cross-functional teams to develop client-focused proposals and drive successful project outcomes. You will own the full pursuit lifecycle while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do15
- 1Manage complete pursuit lifecycle from identification through award and debrief
- 2Lead kickoff meetings and establish schedules milestones and deadlines
- 3Collaborate with Business Development Preconstruction and Operations on pursuit strategies
- 4Conduct client and competitor research to identify positioning opportunities
- 5Coordinate SWOT analyses and maintain pursuit planning activities
- 6Ensure consistent messaging across proposals presentations and interviews
- 7Coordinate post-submittal client touchpoints until project award
- 8Develop RFQs RFPs qualifications packages presentations and interview materials
- 9Write edit and proofread proposal content for clarity and compliance
- 10Translate technical information into compelling client-focused messaging
- 11Maintain and improve proposal content library with project data and case studies
- 12Partner with subject matter experts to gather technical information
- 13Facilitate lessons learned after interviews and major pursuits
- 14Support development of executive summaries project approaches and client messaging
- 15Serve as trusted advisor aligning teams throughout pursuit process
Requirements14
- 1Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications English Journalism Business Construction Management or related field
- 25-8+ years proposal management or marketing experience in AEC industry
- 3Demonstrated success managing complex proposal efforts and interviews
- 4Experience coordinating multidisciplinary pursuit teams
- 5Proficiency with CRM platforms
- 6Familiarity with Design-Build CMAR General Contracting and negotiated procurement processes
- 7Exceptional writing editing and proofreading skills
- 8Strong project management organizational abilities
- 9Ability to facilitate meetings and manage multiple concurrent pursuits
- 10Strategic thinking with attention to detail
- 11Ability to interpret technical construction information and communicate client value
- 12Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
