Property Accountant, Real Estate & Yardi/OneSite
Overview
Own the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of residential properties, including monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will work directly with property managers and report to the Managing Director of Accounting at Elevation Property Management. The team operates in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment that rewards initiative. This role offers the chance to deepen expertise in property accounting with Yardi and OneSite, and to shape budget and audit processes.
What You'll Do9
- 1Record monthly revenues, expenses, and activities for a portfolio of properties using OneSite and Yardi.
- 2Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and closing packages, analyzing variances against budget.
- 3Reconcile tenant ledgers, accounts receivable, and payables, ensuring accuracy across all property accounts.
- 4Process invoices and payments through the accounting system, tracking open payables with on-site teams.
- 5Assist with year-end tax and audit processes, compiling supporting documentation and schedules.
- 6Coordinate the annual budget process, providing analysis and reporting on cost variances and financial health.
- 7Audit financial transactions and documents, reinforcing data confidentiality and performing database backups.
- 8Deliver monthly financial reviews to property managers, reporting on liquidity, profit/loss, and balance sheet items.
- 9Drive compliance with GAAP and company policies, including Fair Housing regulations and required training courses.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of accounting experience, with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 2Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate to advanced level, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
- 3Hands-on experience with OneSite or Yardi property management software.
- 4Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- 5Experience in the real estate or property management industry.
- 6Excellent understanding of GAAP and accounting regulations.
- 7Ability to analyze financial data and present clear, actionable reports.
- 8Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- 9Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with teams and stakeholders.
Salary Insight
