Project Safety Advisor, Heavy Industrial Construction & Data Center
Overview
Own site-wide health, safety, and environmental programs for hyperscale data center construction projects at scale. Lead safety during high risk construction phases, including heavy equipment and live power transitions. Collaborate with construction leadership, general contractors, and commissioning teams to deliver infrastructure safely and at global scale. Drive continuous improvement through safety metrics and leadership engagement. This role sits at the intersection of heavy industrial construction and mission-critical infrastructure.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead site-wide HSE programs for hyperscale data center construction projects
- 2Perform daily walkthroughs focused on high risk activities including trenching, crane operations, scaffolding, and heavy equipment
- 3Partner with prime contractors to implement safety programs and ensure timely deliverables
- 4Track and report incident rates, near misses, and leading safety indicators to drive continuous improvement
- 5Lead safety oversight during Electrical Commissioning including UPS, switchgear, and generators
- 6Audit prime contractor safety programs and lead weekly safety leadership meetings
- 7Establish and maintain emergency response plans and medical response procedures
- 8Oversee safety performance during large-scale workforce ramp-ups and transition to live environments
- 9Influence site leadership to uphold safety standards under aggressive project timelines
- 10Ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA 70E regulations across all activities
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 25+ years in heavy industrial construction safety e.g., oil and gas, power generation, or large-scale manufacturing
- 3Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification or OSHA 510; First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
- 4Deep working knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and NFPA 70E including arc flash boundaries and PPE selection
- 5Ability to work full-time on active construction sites, including outdoor conditions and physically demanding tasks
