Project Manager, Utility Scale Solar & BESS
Overview
You own delivery of utility scale solar, BESS, and wind projects from Notice to Proceed to Commercial Operations at Greenvolt Power USA. As part of the Delivery Team, you manage budgets, schedules, and risk registers while coordinating with EPC contractors, suppliers, and AHJs. You drive projects through construction, compliance, and handover, ensuring alignment with development and financing. This role stands out for its hybrid flexibility, international travel, and exposure to the full project lifecycle in a growing renewables portfolio.
What You'll Do10
- 1Own project budget and schedule, tracking actuals and forecasts through to Commercial Operations.
- 2Maintain the project risk register and escalate issues to stakeholders in weekly communications.
- 3Lead internal coordination meetings and track outstanding development activities during handover.
- 4Support procurement with scoping, evaluation, and negotiation of EPC and major equipment contracts.
- 5Manage external coordination with suppliers, EPC contractors, permitting authorities, and offtakers during construction.
- 6Monitor design through Issued For Construction (IFC), coordinating with the Owner's Engineer to optimize operations.
- 7Oversee contract documents, risks, and changes, ensuring all interface points are clearly understood and managed.
- 8Conduct site visits monthly during construction, inspecting progress and tracking punch list activities.
- 9Ensure compliance with environmental permits, prevailing wage, apprenticeship, and domestic content documentation.
- 10Support project financing by providing input to independent engineers, lenders, and investors.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field.
- 25+ years of direct construction or project management experience.
- 3Experience on utility scale renewables projects preferred, or large scale construction.
- 4Familiarity with health and safety regulations, incident reporting, and compliance.
- 5Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel and MS Project.
- 6Experience with Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- 7Ability to read and review technical drawings; AutoCAD and GIS knowledge a plus.
- 8Ability to understand contractual documentation and translate to real world risks.
- 9Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international and domestic site visits.
