Project Commercial Contract Principal, Renewables EPC

You will own EPC contract administration for renewables projects up to $250MM, partnering with project leadership to drive commercial outcomes. What You'll Do12
- 1Serve as the subject matter expert for complex contractual and commercial issues across multiple concurrent EPC projects.
- 2Present commercial risk assessments and recommendations to executive leadership.
- 3Establish relationships with project operational leadership teams to align on contract execution.
- 4Proactively identify potential changes and prepare forward-looking analysis and conceptual mitigation plans before issues arise.
- 5Interface directly with clients on contractual matters, including notices and change orders.
- 6Develop and execute comprehensive claims and entitlement strategies for EPC projects.
- 7Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate change orders, delay claims, disruption claims, and cost recovery initiatives.
- 8Conduct periodic audits of project compliance with notice provisions, subcontract requirements, quality documentation, insurance obligations, and payment terms.
- 9Draft contractual notices to subcontractors and suppliers regarding performance issues.
- 10Advise project managers on contractual change requirements, tracking changes through final resolution.
- 11Support project closeout to ensure all contractual requirements are met, including administration of certificates and warranties.
- 12Capture contractual lessons learned during project execution and report during the Close Out Phase Gate.
Requirements15
- 1Bachelor's degree in law, engineering, construction management, or relevant discipline; or equivalent experience.
- 210+ years of recent experience in construction contract management on large and complex construction projects in the $150MM to $250MM range.
- 33+ years of recent experience using construction management software such as Viewpoint or Procore.
- 4Experience participating in pre-award contract negotiations with owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and joint venture partners.
- 5Experience in EPC, design-build, renewable energy, transmission, power generation, industrial, or heavy civil projects.
- 6Experience managing commercial risk across multiple concurrent projects.
- 7Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- 8RICS, MRICS, or equivalent commercial management certification preferred.
- 9Certification in claims analysis or delay analysis (AACE, PSP) preferred.
- 10Strong knowledge of construction contract requirements, claims analysis, change order cost estimates, and time impact analyses.
- 11Subject-matter expert in contract management principles and techniques.
- 12Understanding of common construction agreement provisions including warranties, limits of liability, risk of loss, schedule milestones/LD's, force majeure, and change orders.
- 13Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling principles and CPM schedule analysis.
- 14Ability to evaluate schedule impacts associated with changes, delays, acceleration, and productivity losses.
- 15Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
