Project Manager Mechanical Fuels Miami
Overview
You will run 3-5 mechanical and fuels projects from bid to closeout, controlling budgets from $1M to $20M. You report to the Director of Construction Operations and coordinate with superintendents, engineers, and clients. You drive schedule, cost, and safety while building subcontractor relationships. This role stands out for its direct P&L ownership and field decision authority.
What You'll Do10
- 1Analyze project scope and schedule to set milestones and resource plans in MS Project.
- 2Develop site-specific safety plans with EHS and enforce OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER standards.
- 3Prepare and review subcontracts, bonds, and insurance certificates for each trade.
- 4Expedite shop drawings and submittals, verifying accuracy and tracking revisions.
- 5Monitor job costs in Excel to identify overruns and adjust forecasts monthly.
- 6Lead weekly coordination meetings with superintendents and engineers to resolve field issues.
- 7Manage change order pricing and approvals with the estimating team and DCO.
- 8Track material deliveries to prevent shortages and keep installation on schedule.
- 9Complete closeout documents, including O&M manuals and warranty packages.
- 10Represent the company with owners, architects, and subcontractors, building long-term partnerships.
Requirements9
- 13-5 years as a Project Engineer in construction, ideally mechanical or civil.
- 25 years total construction experience with direct project management duties.
- 3Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- 4Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word.
- 5Knowledge of scheduling software and construction estimating tools.
- 6OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER certifications (preferred).
- 7Licensing as a Professional Engineer, General Contractor, or Mechanical Contractor (strong plus).
- 8Ability to work on-site in Miami with occasional travel to project sites.
- 9Physical capacity to wear safety gear and lift up to 30 lb.
