What You'll Do11

  • 1Lead a team of 12-15 engineers and planners for a $50 million pedestrian capital program
  • 2Oversee full project lifecycle from conceptual development through construction
  • 3Develop equity-focused data-driven approaches for traffic calming installations
  • 4Direct staff performance planning and implementation within the section
  • 5Coordinate with city construction crews and other departments to deliver projects on schedule
  • 6Create and maintain policies ensuring efficient section operations
  • 7Represent Livable Streets to community groups and elected officials
  • 8Adjust plans to meet emerging needs while addressing agency priorities
  • 9Supervise staff development and foster inclusive work environment
  • 10Manage capital programs exceeding $50 million across multiple projects
  • 11Advocate for necessary resources including technology and materials

Requirements11

  • 1Bachelor's degree in architecture engineering or planning with six years experience or equivalent combination
  • 2Six years of responsible architectural engineering or construction management experience
  • 3Ten years of related experience or California PE/Architect license with two years project coordination
  • 4At least three years supervisory experience demonstrating strong staff management skills
  • 5Experience with bicycle pedestrian facilities design and speed management strategies
  • 6Knowledge of transportation funding sources and grant management capabilities
  • 7Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences and public presentations
  • 8Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and build consensus
  • 9Familiarity with transportation policy and equity considerations
  • 10Professional engineering or architectural licensure
  • 11Two years of full-time experience equivalent to 2000 hours
