Project Engineer, Heavy Civil & Water/Wastewater
Overview
Project Engineer leads field coordination and documentation for heavy civil and water wastewater projects at scale within a growing organization. You will partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to keep schedules on track and ensure quality, safety, and compliance. This on site role offers clear growth toward a Project Manager position and a strong backlog of projects. The role blends office tasks with substantial field presence to drive project progress.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build project budgets, track costs, and generate financial reporting to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- 2Monitor schedules to identify delays and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and execution.
- 3Manage submittals ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
- 4Assist in drafting and tracking subcontractor and supplier change documentation and project records.
- 5Partner with field leadership to maintain a safe, productive, and coordinated jobsite.
- 6Coordinate day to day construction activities to meet quality standards and project milestones.
- 7Collaborate with internal teams to track progress, resolve issues, and support decision making in field and office.
- 8Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders for smooth execution.
- 9Prepare reports and track data using Microsoft Office and design tools like AutoCAD and Revit for documentation and coordination.
- 10Manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail and thorough documentation.
Requirements10
- 11+ years of Project Engineer experience in construction, specifically water/wastewater or heavy civil projects
- 2Hands on experience supporting projects such as treatment plants, lift stations, booster stations, reclamation facilities, or similar infrastructure
- 3Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- 4Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, and Revit for reviewing and coordinating drawings and models
- 5Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced project environment
- 6Analytical and problem solving abilities to identify issues, evaluate options, and contribute to project solutions
- 7Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with project teams, field personnel, and external stakeholders
- 8Team oriented mindset working with Project Managers, field leadership, and project partners
- 9Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, submittals, agreements, and records
- 10Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
