Electrical Project Engineer, Water Wastewater & Civil Electrical Systems
Overview
Own electrical construction projects in water and wastewater facilities at scale across treatment plants and pumping stations. You will support planning, coordination, and delivery of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within a safety focused environment. You will also contribute to cost estimation, scheduling, and compliance to ensure timely, on budget project outcomes. This role blends engineering, project management, and field execution in a collaborative team.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build project documentation, reports, and compliance records for electrical systems and installations
- 2Design and coordinate electrical components and control systems to meet technical specs and safety standards
- 3Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to drive smooth project execution
- 4Track progress, milestones, and resource needs to keep projects on schedule
- 5Estimate initial costs, monitor budgets, and identify cost saving opportunities
- 6Assist in maintaining accurate drawings, files, and records of electrical work performed
- 7Communicate with stakeholders including vendors, engineers, and regulatory bodies
- 8Support safety programs and regulatory compliance during installations and operations
- 9Prepare and update project timelines and forecasts for leadership review
- 10Support risk management by identifying potential overruns and proposing mitigations
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field
- 22-5 years of electrical construction experience in water/wastewater, utilities, or industrial sectors
- 3Knowledge of NEC NFPA and related electrical codes and regulations for water/wastewater operations
- 4Experience with cost estimation and budgeting for electrical projects a plus
- 5Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera), CAD, and estimating software a plus
- 6Ability to work in office and field environments with travel to project sites
- 7Strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills
- 8Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- 9Willingness to work outside regular hours when project deadlines require
- 10Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Salary Insight
$38 - $48k per year
