Overview

Design and build continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS) for industrial clients, managing projects from drawings to site commissioning. You own the full engineering lifecycle, including AutoCAD design, PLC integration, and quality testing (FAT/SAT). Work with a collaborative team of engineers and fabricators in Angier, NC, with 20% remote flexibility. This role demands technical depth in electrical power (480/208/240/120 VAC) and the National Electrical Code, plus hands-on field work.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Develop complete electrical, mechanical, and installation drawings using AutoCAD for CEMS projects.
  • 2Write technical specifications, BOMs, and spare parts lists for each system build.
  • 3Support FAT and SAT testing to verify systems meet design and performance criteria.
  • 4Design CEMS products and integrate PLC-based control systems with analog and digital signals.
  • 5Oversee fabrication and assembly, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • 6Assist with financial tracking and client communication to meet project targets.
  • 7Apply National Electrical Code and AC power distribution (480V, 208V, 240V, 120V) in designs.
  • 8Perform site visits for installation, startup, and commissioning of monitoring systems.
  • 9Create and maintain technical documentation like owner's manuals and QA plans.

Requirements10

  • 13+ years engineering experience with CEMS or similar industrial systems.
  • 2Hands-on knowledge of AC power distribution (480/208/240/120 VAC).
  • 3Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • 4Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • 5Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • 6Ability to prepare BOMs, technical specs, and spare parts lists.
  • 7Experience conducting FAT/SAT tests.
  • 8Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 9Willingness to travel up to 25% for site work.
  • 10Undergraduate degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
