Senior Electrical Design Engineer Cates Control Systems
Overview
We seek a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead complex design projects and mentor engineers. This role involves taking ownership of advanced electrical and control system designs from concept through fabrication while ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards. Collaboration across functions drives problem solving and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do9
- 1Check and review designs as required
- 2Assist in maintaining Quality Assurance System
- 3Interface with customers colleagues and manufacturing to resolve issues and provide guidance
- 4Perform detailed Electrical Mechanical designs for advanced projects
- 5Identify changes in scope and notify Project Manager in a timely manner
- 6Require minimum direction from Senior Engineer or Project Manager and work unsupervised
- 7Demonstrate superior knowledge of NFPA 70 NEC UL508A and other standards
- 8Approve drawings and drawing sets for release to fabrication and customer
- 9Train and mentor junior electrical design engineers on techniques and best practices
Requirements19
- 1Minimum of 10 years experience in Electrical Design of Power and Control systems
- 2Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 UL508A and IEC standards
- 3Minimum of 10 years experience using AutoCad Electrical
- 4Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 5Ability to understand interpret and design to meet required codes and standards
- 6Research skills and quick learning ability using internet and company resources
- 7Management or leadership training for effective communication
- 8Electrical training from school electrician or courses
- 9NFPA 70 NEC and UL 508A training or equivalent experience
- 10UL508A MTDR certification required
- 11Expert knowledge of control panel fabrication practices
- 12Thorough understanding of quality assurance principles and CSIA requirements
- 13Knowledge of hazardous locations NFPA and IEC standards
- 14Expertise in designing any control system
- 15Ability to research scope materials and parts for fully operating control systems
- 16Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for schematics wiring diagrams panel layouts sheet metal designs dimensioning plotting and revision maintenance
- 17Current knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
- 18Expert knowledge of Intrinsically Safe Systems and Purge Systems
- 19Experience with dangerous locations and safety systems
