Project Accountant - Charlotte NC Construction
Overview
The Project Accountant leads financial operations for construction projects from setup to closeout. This role partners with managers to drive billing collections and process subcontractor payments. Ideal candidates thrive in small environments and seek continuous improvement. Construction accounting expertise is preferred.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build and manage accurate project invoices and AIA billing packages
- 2Review project costs and subcontractor billings for accuracy
- 3Coordinate with project managers for timely billing and collections
- 4Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices
- 5Maintain organized project accounting records and close files
- 6Process vendor invoices and reconcile statements
- 7Support monthly accounts receivable reporting
- 8Review codes and process vendor subcontractor invoices
- 9Maintain vendor files including tax documents
- 10Provide month-end close assistance
- 11Support general accounting functions as needed
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's or Associates degree in Accounting
- 23-7 years accounting experience preferred
- 3Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- 4Construction or project-based accounting experience
- 5Familiarity with AIA billing systems
- 6Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- 7Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- 8Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
- 9Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 10Continuous improvement mindset
- 11Experience with construction accounting software
