Project Accountant - Accountants One Atlanta GA
Overview
We seek a Project Accountant to lead project billing cost tracking and financial organization. The ideal candidate will stay organized across multiple projects understand job structures and support projects from billing through cash collection. This role offers high visibility working directly with project managers accounting and leadership.
What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare and submit project invoices including deposits progress and final billings
- 2Support billing workflows using schedules of values payment applications and lien waivers
- 3Track billing status including billed amounts accounts receivable retention and outstanding items
- 4Monitor project costs and assist with job-level financial organization
- 5Partner with project managers to ensure accurate billing and alignment between estimates costs and invoicing
- 6Identify discrepancies between estimates billing and actual project performance
- 7Collaborate with project managers accounting and leadership to support execution and financial visibility
- 8Assist with collections by maintaining accurate billing records and supporting follow-up efforts
- 9Contribute to process improvements across project accounting and billing workflows
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
- 25+ years of accounting or project accounting experience
- 3Direct experience with project billing job costing and construction style invoicing
- 4Working knowledge of AIA billing schedules of values lien waivers retention and change-related billing
- 5Strong understanding of accounts receivable collections and project-level financial reporting
- 6Expertise with purchase orders vendor invoice review and cost approvals
- 7Deep familiarity with accounts receivable collections and project financial reporting
- 8Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail
- 9Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced environments
- 10Clear communication skills to identify issues early and drive follow-up
Salary Insight
$75 - $85k per year
