Overview

You will own job cost tracking and construction draw management for multiple projects at a growing civil construction firm. 5+ years in construction accounting with UKG exposure and strong Excel skills will set you apart. You will report to the Controller and collaborate daily with Project Managers and senior leadership over a $50M+ project portfolio. This role stands out because you will directly influence project profitability through timely, accurate reporting and draw compliance.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Process construction draws end-to-end, from request to funding, for 5+ projects at a time, ensuring compliance with lender requirements.
  • 2Maintain draw and invoice files, communicating with project managers and vendors to manage draw schedules and documentation.
  • 3Reconcile bank accounts and prepare corporate balance sheet reconciliations, including monthly internal management reports.
  • 4Calculate and invoice general contracting fees, then allocate payroll to project cost codes via UKG or QuickBooks.
  • 5Manage accounts receivable for construction, from billing through collection, verifying with Project Managers and preparing weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • 6Process accounts payable from invoice to payment, coding invoices to job numbers, cost codes, and GL accounts, then route for approval.
  • 7Track job costs and analyze project profitability, entering project setup sheets and maintaining filing systems.
  • 8Assist with certified payroll processing and lien waiver maintenance, plus subcontractor insurance verification.
  • 9Prepare deposits and support special projects, interfacing with owners, the Controller, and Project Managers on accounting matters.

Requirements7

  • 12+ years of accounting experience with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2Working knowledge of the construction accounting life cycle, including job costing and draws.
  • 3Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • 4Experience with UKG is a plus, but not required.
  • 5Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • 6Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and solve problems resourcefully.
  • 7Curiosity and willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
