Program Specialist, TOPS Youth Development & Case Management
Overview
You will own case management and career readiness for high-need English learner youth aged 14-24. You will design and deliver job and college readiness workshops, build college and employer partnerships, and guide participants through individualized vocational plans. Working with the TOPS team, you will support a caseload of up to 30 youth, connecting them to internships, college tours, and community resources. This role stands out because you will shape the curriculum and directly influence each youth's transition to post-secondary success.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design and deliver job and college readiness workshops using Adult Education principles and Google Classroom.
- 2Conduct vocational and interest assessments with youth, developing individualized vocational goals and plans.
- 3Coordinate college and corporate tours for high school and TAY students to explore post-secondary and employment pathways.
- 4Provide case management and referrals, assisting with job placement and connecting youth to EOPS and CCSF services.
- 5Counsel youth on personal issues that affect their work or school performance, using Motivational Interviewing.
- 6Maintain a current list of transferable college credits and job opportunities for participants.
- 7Plan and execute a community service-learning project with CYC partners.
- 8Support and facilitate activities at the summer boot camp, focusing on skill building and team bonding.
- 9Track program outcomes using Salesforce and produce monthly reports.
- 10Refer youth to appropriate internal or external services and support agency-wide events.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related field, or pursuing degree with relevant experience.
- 22+ years of experience working with youth, preferably in youth workforce development programs.
- 3Experience facilitating meetings and workshops and providing 1:1 support to youth.
- 4Ability to work with ethnically diverse low-income youth and English language learners.
- 5Experience collaborating with community-based providers and private sector partners.
- 6Bilingual in English and Cantonese or Mandarin is required.
- 7Strong oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- 8Organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks independently.
- 9Enthusiasm for promoting academic achievement and college-to-career education.
- 10Ability to lift 25 lbs and work some evenings and weekends.
