Overview

The College Success Advisor will own recruitment and advising for up to 20 hours weekly at Burton or Galileo High School. This part time role supports CSAC eligibility and drives enrollment outcomes. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments and values community impact.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Direct Service/Outreach Identify and select eligible participants meeting CSAC income or first-generation criteria
  • 2Assess Educational Needs Evaluate academic potential and determine support requirements
  • 3Provide Information Deliver college financial aid and career guidance to encourage graduation and enrollment
  • 4Conduct Applications Assist with federal state application processes
  • 5Coordinate Field Trips Organize college campus visits and local community engagements
  • 6Refer Services Connect participants with social agencies and government programs
  • 7Administrative Management Oversee 100-125 student caseload and maintain documentation
  • 8Support Staff Collaborate with high school counselors on program events
  • 9Program Participation Support other JCYC initiatives and meetings
  • 10Evaluation Contribute to project assessments and continuous improvement

Requirements8

  • 1Currently enrolled in college and receiving financial aid
  • 2Preference for first-gen background aligning with target population
  • 3Proven experience working with youth and presenting programs
  • 4Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 6Desired knowledge of San Francisco youth resources
  • 7Ability to cooperate with school staff and agencies
  • 8Bilingual skills in Cantonese Spanish Vietnamese Tagalog preferred
