Overview

The Program Director will lead the Urban Innovation Fellows Program to accelerate technology adoption in New York City. This full-time benefits-eligible role offers a competitive salary range of $102,300 to $134,500. Responsibilities include designing programs and managing fellows while fostering inclusive leadership.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Create, lead and direct program design, scope technology deployment projects with agencies, and develop metrics of success along with program monitoring
  • 2Develop and oversee the implementation of programmatic policies and procedures
  • 3Develop a cohesive vision and direction for the programs; oversee the creation of a comprehensive and coordinated programmatic model addressing partner needs
  • 4Manage program budget and develop strategic operational planning for the Innovation Fellows Program
  • 5Hire, manage and direct Fellows, providing day-to-day project management and identifying project blockers
  • 6Lead and supervise a cohort of Innovation Fellows; conduct performance management, performance dialogues, ongoing coaching and counseling, and growth opportunities
  • 7Cultivate collaborative relationships across campus to promote program integration within the Cornell Tech community
  • 8Direct development of program publications and marketing tools to create a comprehensive communication strategy
  • 9Represent Cornell Tech and Fellows Program at public forums and events; publish findings in trade media outlets
  • 10Participate in projects with occasional work responsibility falling above or below current classification
  • 11Complete university required compliance trainings

Requirements11

  • 1Master’s degree and 3-5 years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2Background and demonstrated interest in urban tech policy and implementation
  • 3Familiarity with technology pilot design/execution, data collection and analysis and strong analytical and writing skills
  • 4Exhibits leadership and project management responsibilities; positive and proactive attitude
  • 5Demonstrates collaborative demeanor to build rapport and establish credibility with stakeholders
  • 6Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity equity access inclusion wellbeing
  • 7Proven ability to navigate complex projects with all stakeholders
  • 8At least 10 years of work experience preferred
  • 9Experience working in NYC or other local government
  • 10Experience with designing, developing, and deploying technology pilots in complex environments
  • 11Preference for candidates who connect inclusion belonging and wellbeing practices to business goals
