Production Supervisor, Lean Manufacturing & Fabrication
Overview
Supervise 35 hourly employees and 2-3 team leads in a non-union fabrication and stamping plant. Own daily operations, safety, and KPI delivery in a Lean environment with 50+ years of industry history. You will mentor leads, drive accountability, and make independent decisions in a highly automated job shop. This role stands out with direct P&L impact and visibility into plant-wide operational excellence.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead 2-3 team leads and 35 hourly employees to hit on-time delivery, quality, and safety targets.
- 2Coach and develop team leads in Lean problem-solving, daily management, and conflict resolution.
- 3Drive KPIs by auditing workflows and removing bottlenecks in fabrication, stamping, and welding cells.
- 4Implement Kaizen events to reduce changeover time and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
- 5Own shift-level production scheduling and resource allocation across automated work centers.
- 6Conduct daily stand-ups to align team priorities with plant metrics and safety standards.
- 7Build a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations and recognizing top performers.
- 8Partner with maintenance and engineering to escalate equipment issues and minimize downtime.
Requirements7
- 13+ years supervising production teams in a manufacturing environment.
- 25+ years in fabrication, stamping, welding, or assembly operations.
- 3Hands-on experience with Lean tools: 5S, value stream mapping, and standard work.
- 4Proven track record of improving safety, quality, and on-time delivery metrics.
- 5Ability to make data-driven decisions using Excel and MES systems.
- 6Strong leadership and communication skills with hourly and salaried teams.
- 7BS degree in engineering, operations management, or related field preferred.
