Production Lead - 2nd Shift, Warehouse Operations
Overview
You will lead a team of General Handlers on the 2nd shift in a high-volume warehouse environment, ensuring production targets are met with safety and quality. You'll translate the Supervisor's plan into daily assignments, adjust staffing as needed, and provide hands-on training and coaching. This role coordinates with multiple departments and temporarily oversees operations in the Supervisor's absence, making it ideal for a reliable leader ready to step up.
What You'll Do10
- 1Assign employees to tasks based on production priorities, staffing, training, and operational needs.
- 2Communicate daily goals, work instructions, safety requirements, and priority changes to the team.
- 3Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, workflow, and adherence to standard procedures.
- 4Adjust labor and resources within the assigned operation as workload and conditions change.
- 5Provide hands-on training, direction, and immediate coaching to new and existing employees.
- 6Identify and resolve routine production, inventory, packaging, labeling, staffing, and workflow issues.
- 7Escalate significant safety, quality, performance, equipment, or employee concerns to the Supervisor.
- 8Coordinate work and operational handoffs with Quality, Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, and other departments.
- 9Support opening, closing, shift transitions, and temporary oversight of operations when assigned.
- 10Perform and support General Handler duties, including box building, product packing, labeling, pallet organization, wrapping, staging, and material handling.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, packaging, fulfillment, or distribution environment.
- 3Previous experience directing work, training employees, or coordinating production activities preferred.
- 4Ability to organize work, assign priorities, adjust resources, and maintain control in a fast-paced environment.
- 5Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- 6Ability to provide clear instruction and constructive coaching while maintaining professionalism.
- 7Proficiency in English and bilingual proficiency in Spanish are required.
- 8Strong attention to safety, quality, productivity, and accuracy.
- 9Basic computer skills, including data entry, email, label printing, and production documentation.
- 10Dependable attendance and flexibility to work in different areas or schedules based on business needs.
