Lead Production Associate, 1st Shift Manufacturing
Overview
You will lead a team of 20 production employees in a high-volume manufacturing environment, using problem-solving tools and lean principles to hit safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. You will own the floor's daily operations, from stand-up meetings to process audits, and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership. This role offers base pay starting at $26.00-$32.00 and a 4-day work week (Mon-Thu, 5:00am-3:30pm). You will drive continuous improvement with Kaizen events and PDCA cycles, getting hands-on with Microsoft Office and visual management tools.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead daily Tier I/Front Line Management stand-up meetings to align the team on production goals and safety.
- 2Coach, train, and mentor 20 production employees to improve performance and resolve conflicts.
- 3Enforce and audit safety protocols, using 5S and standard work to eliminate hazards.
- 4Establish and track Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics, updating visual boards with run charts and focus boards.
- 5Identify process constraints and apply 5 Why and PDCA to solve root causes.
- 6Partner with cross-functional teams to run Kaizen events and lean projects for continuous improvement.
- 7Maintain training matrices and certification records to ensure team competence.
- 8Provide real-time performance feedback to leadership, translating data into actions.
- 9Delegate tasks and manage shift priorities to meet output and quality targets.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or engineering preferred
- 3Strong communication and time management skills
- 4Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate production teams
- 5Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and tracking
- 6Mechanical aptitude preferred
- 7Lean certification or manufacturing experience preferred
- 8Bilingual in Spanish, Creole, Hindi, or Gujarati is a plus
