Overview

Muon Space seeks a Product Manager to lead bits-to-ground communications across RF and optical links, simulation, and software test. Based in San Jose hybrid three days weekly reporting to a Director of Product Management. This role drives product strategy and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Drive communications, simulation, and test product roadmap for RF and optical links
  • 2Own Muon Sim digital twin for mission design and operations
  • 3Develop software test infrastructure and hardware-in-the-loop environments
  • 4Author PRDs and align stakeholders on product quality and schedule
  • 5Partner with Director of Product Management on strategy and build/buy decisions
  • 6Conduct customer interviews and translate insights into roadmap actions
  • 7Coordinate with engineering teams across ground software simulation test and mission systems
  • 8Collaborate with federal Director of PM on defense aligned product needs
  • 9Work with VP of Product and PM team on strategic prioritization
  • 10Translate mission requirements into detailed product specifications
  • 11Maintain strong technical relationships with engineering leaders

Requirements13

  • 13–5 years product management experience in complex technical environments
  • 2Background in communications systems simulation or test infrastructure
  • 3Cross-functional collaboration with multiple engineering groups
  • 4Proven ability to succeed in uncertain projects with evolving requirements
  • 5Delivery of major features across concurrent workstreams
  • 6Strong communication skills influencing technical investments without direct authority
  • 7Ability to convert customer needs into acceptance criteria
  • 8Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 9Active U.S. government security clearance
  • 10Familiarity with RF optical communications or ground station networks
  • 11Experience with mission design constellation modeling or digital twin platforms
  • 12Exposure to software development for space applications
  • 13Prior startup or high-growth technology experience
