Product Installation Engineer, Semiconductor Tools
Overview
Own installation of new semiconductor tools at customer sites across the US and internationally, with 80-90% travel. You will troubleshoot complex system-level problems and ensure predictable production readiness. Collaborate with a global services team and support junior engineers. This role offers direct customer impact and the chance to work with KLA's advanced inspection and metrology systems.
What You'll Do8
- 1Install new KLA tools at customer sites independently, following procedures and meeting cycle times.
- 2Troubleshoot and repair complex system-level issues during installation using standard procedures and BKMs.
- 3Escalate unresolved issues with clear communication of actions and data to obtain needed support.
- 4Prepare field service reports and daily pass-downs, documenting installation progress and non-conformances.
- 5Contribute to post-activity Quality Feedback Reports to drive continuous improvement.
- 6Obtain and maintain international travel documents, managing personal logistics for extended travel.
- 7Provide guidance and technical assistance to junior engineers at customer sites, including phone support.
- 8Develop basic POAs (Plans of Action) to address installation challenges.
Requirements6
- 13+ years of experience in semiconductor or related field, or military service experience.
- 2Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electromechanical systems.
- 3Willingness to travel 80-90% domestically and internationally by commercial transportation.
- 4Strong communication skills for clear pass-downs and escalation.
- 5Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- 6Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary travel visas.
