Overview
You will own technical equipment diagnosis and repair for KLA's semiconductor manufacturing systems in Phoenix, AZ, supporting chip production lines. You will troubleshoot system-level failures, minimize downtime, and drive customer satisfaction across a fleet of optical and motion-control tools. You will work with global engineering teams to resolve recurring issues and document solutions. This role combines hands-on field service with cross-functional collaboration, offering 20% travel after training.
What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose system-level failures via phone or on-site, isolating root causes across optics, image processing, and motion control.
- 2Repair complex equipment with multiple failure causes, restoring tool performance to meet customer production targets.
- 3Own customer happiness for assigned accounts, coordinating actions with customers to minimize downtime.
- 4Support Installation Engineers during new tool bring-up, resolving problems that block customer acceptance.
- 5Document field service activity in reports, flagging re-occurring issues to engineering and knowledge bases.
- 6Build trusted relationships with customers by resolving sophisticated requests, from setup to RMA processes.
- 7Execute technical critical issues with detailed problem statements, passing down to system engineering for resolution.
- 8Characterize and support customer demos and field projects, applying analytical skills to real-world semiconductor environments.
Requirements8
- 1Master's degree or 2+ years work experience, or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience in engineering or related field.
- 2Proven ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems, including software and hardware interactions.
- 3Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, optics, or motion control preferred.
- 4Strong communication skills to interface with customers and cross-functional teams.
- 5Willingness to travel 20% for on-site support and training.
- 6Familiarity with RMA processes and customer service documentation.
- 7Ability to work independently in a cleanroom environment and follow safety protocols.
- 8Basic understanding of data analysis and root-cause investigation methods.
