Overview

You will own customer-facing and internal applications support for complex Overlay measurement systems at KLA, a global leader in semiconductor process control. You will design experiments, develop recipes, and drive tool adoption at customer fabs, working alongside division engineering, sales, and marketing teams. You will characterize next-generation overlay products, publish application notes, and transfer knowledge to the worldwide apps team. This role puts you at the intersection of optical metrology, data analysis, and customer success, with direct impact on product penetration and revenue. You will solve hard problems with Python and Matlab, and collaborate with top engineers across the US, Israel, China, and India.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Design and execute in-house customer demonstrations and head-to-head (H2H) evaluations at customer sites to showcase Overlay tool performance and drive sales.
  • 2Develop and optimize recipes for complex optical applications using Matlab and Python, modeling and improving tool performance.
  • 3Lead troubleshooting and escalation support for field service engineers, coordinating remote and local diagnostics to resolve complex issues.
  • 4Characterize next-generation overlay measurement products by designing test plans, collecting and analyzing data, and publishing results as application notes and best-known methods.
  • 5Create training materials and transfer new production knowledge and application capabilities to the worldwide applications support team.
  • 6Collaborate with system and algorithm teams to develop offline software tools for data analysis and feature development.
  • 7Manage alpha and beta testing, providing pilot tool support during ramp phases to enable product adoption at customer facilities.
  • 8Provide high-level applications support for overlay measurement systems, bridging engineering, sales, and customer needs.

Requirements7

  • 1Master's Degree in Physics, Optics, Materials Science, Microelectronics, or related engineering field with 3+ years related experience, or PhD with 0+ years, or Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years.
  • 2Proficiency in Matlab and Python for data analysis and tool development.
  • 3Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to design experiments and interpret complex data.
  • 4Superb communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • 5Self-driven and independent, with strong teamwork capability across diverse cultures.
  • 6Fluent in English and effective in multicultural environments.
  • 7Experience with semiconductor metrology or overlay measurement systems is a plus.
