Product Development & Sourcing Manager, Apparel
Overview
Own product development for Orolay's U.S. market, from style selection to bulk delivery, managing 6-8 apparel categories with China-based suppliers. You will bridge U.S. market needs and China supply chain teams, driving cost, quality, and timeline decisions. This role stands out for its cross-border coordination and split time between New York and China.
What You'll Do9
- 1Drive product development from style selection, quotation, sampling, revisions, to bulk production and delivery for the U.S. market.
- 2Source and evaluate apparel suppliers, factories, fabric and trim vendors, and external sourcing partners to build a reliable network.
- 3Translate U.S. market needs, sales feedback, and pricing targets into clear requirements for China-based suppliers and internal teams.
- 4Track supplier quotations, sample development, costing, production timelines, quality feedback, and shipment schedules to ensure on-time launch.
- 5Assess product feasibility across style, fabric, fit, function, workmanship, cost, target price, margin, and sales channel.
- 6Negotiate costs, plan order quantities, and manage replenishment and inventory risk with the U.S. and China teams.
- 7Coordinate with U.S. sales, operations, marketing, and China supply chain to resolve issues like sample revisions, cost changes, and delivery delays.
- 8Improve workflows for supplier communication, sample approval, order tracking, and delivery management to boost efficiency.
- 9Support cross-time-zone communication, including early morning or evening meetings, and travel as needed for supplier visits and market research.
Requirements6
- 16-8 years in apparel sourcing, product development, merchandising, or production follow-up.
- 2Solid knowledge of fabrics, trims, workmanship, quality standards, and production timelines.
- 3Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- 4Existing supplier, factory, fabric, or trim resources preferred.
- 5Fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
- 6Valid U.S. visa or work authorization, plus willingness to travel between China and the U.S.

$85 - $100k per year
