Design Associate Trim & R&D
Overview
The Design Associate, Trim & R&D supports the day-to-day operational needs of the R&D team, ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely updates across all development tools. This role maintains fabric and trim development data, tracks testing, and updates seasonal charts while facilitating cross-functional communication and managing development workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and adept at handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced product development environment.
What You'll Do22
- 1Support the day-to-day operational needs of the R&D team ensuring accuracy organization and timely updates across all development tools
- 2Maintain fabric and trim development data testing trackers and seasonal charts
- 3Create and maintain seasonal order trackers in SharePoint
- 4Update seasonal master charts with newly landed fabrications and trims
- 5Upload newly landed trim images into PLM and capture associated data
- 6Create Seasonal Denim Wash Non-SAP S/D and 3rd Party License Collaboration colors in PLM
- 7Update and maintain Label & Packaging PLM codes including image uploads
- 8Track test reports entering results into shared testing charts and flagging appropriate outcomes
- 9Maintain the Fabric Attribute Chart to keep fabric details current
- 10Monitor Miro boards daily during PSY ordering deadlines updating corresponding trackers
- 11Communicate with cross-functional teams including Design Sourcing and overseas partners on fabric and trim development
- 12Participate in Packaging & Label R&D emails and meetings to stay informed of developments and production issues
- 13Schedule mill and vendor appointments and manage follow-up actions post-meeting
- 14Send replenishment color chiclets to HK or Pakistan Color Room when requested
- 15Maintain fabric and trim libraries and seasonal binders ensuring organization and accuracy
- 16Maintain Design Label Guides and update them for new developments
- 17Support new developments and special project labels through approval and upload final images into PLM
- 18Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and tracking
- 19Manage and prioritize multiple tasks across fast-moving development calendars
- 20Maintain strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to follow-up and documentation
- 21Communicate effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams
- 22Demonstrate proficiency in PLM systems SharePoint Miro and Microsoft Excel intermediate to advanced preferred
Requirements6
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons experience in apparel design product development or R&D support
- 3Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design Textile Development Product Development Merchandising or related field preferred
- 41–3 years of relevant experience in apparel design product development or R&D support internships included
- 5Familiarity with fabric and trim development processes within the apparel industry
- 6Experience working with global teams or overseas vendors is a plus
Salary Insight
$50 - $125k per year
