Overview

You will fill prescriptions and manage medication orders for hospice patients in a closed-door pharmacy. You will work with pharmacy systems and automated dispensing machines to ensure accurate, timely delivery. Your team supports hospice care across Oakland and the Bay Area. What You'll Do9

  • 1Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
  • 2Label products accurately, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
  • 3Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding of liquids, powders, and ointments.
  • 4Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
  • 5Manage pharmacy inventory, checking stock and removing expired medications.
  • 6Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
  • 7Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
  • 8Operate automated machines to prepack medications and service facility-based dispensing machines like Omnicell.
  • 9Mix IV medications and sanitize the IV room and equipment.

Requirements5

  • 1High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2Pharmacy Technician license as required by state.
  • 3Experience in a pharmacy setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • 4Ability to operate a computer and recognize and identify medications.
  • 5Detail oriented, goal oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.
