Overview
You will own safe medication administration for residents in a senior living community. You coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, and families. You maintain accurate records and verify compliance with state regulations including Title 22 and company policy. What You'll Do14
- 1Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians before and after move-in.
- 2Track all medication orders, changes, and refills.
- 3Report resident status changes to the Health Services Director or Journey Program Director.
- 4Maintain accurate resident records, including MAR sheets and monthly audits.
- 5Inventory department supplies and order when levels drop.
- 6Act as point of contact for physicians, families, and vendors when supervisors are absent.
- 7Assist with scheduling, covering call-offs, and vacations.
- 8Update the Caregiver Monthly Assignment Journal, Medication Technician Med List, and 24-hour communication log.
- 9Administer daily medications, treatments, and resident care per Title 22 regulations.
- 10Verify medication ingestion and document refusals.
- 11Maintain confidential medication records and keep carts and rooms locked and organized.
- 12Complete narcotic counts each shift and report discrepancies.
- 13Carry a radio or pager for prompt response.
- 14Support marketing tours with positive interaction.
Requirements10
- 11+ years experience passing medications.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Completed Medication Administration Course with passing grade.
- 4Completed all state-required medication training.
- 5Experience with elderly clients preferred.
- 6Current First Aid training.
- 7Pass criminal record clearance.
- 8Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- 9Basic math skills.
- 10Work independently and make decisions.
