Pharmacy Technician - Hospice Care Las Vegas
Overview
You will fill and package prescriptions for hospice patients in a closed-door pharmacy, supporting PharMerica and OnePoint Patient Care. Your work ensures timely, accurate medication delivery across Las Vegas, NV. You'll operate in a non-retail environment, handling specialized tasks like IV mixing and Omnicell servicing. This role offers clear advancement paths and covers your Pharmacy Technician license fees.
What You'll Do9
- 1Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery, ensuring accuracy on every label.
- 2Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding of liquids, powders, and ointments within 90 days.
- 3Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels, maintaining 99% data accuracy.
- 4Manage pharmacy inventory by checking stock and removing expired medications to maintain compliance.
- 5Communicate professionally with internal teams and external customers, resolving inquiries promptly.
- 6Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff, sharing best practices for efficiency.
- 7Operate automated machines to prepack medications, ensuring consistent output and safety.
- 8Mix IV medications and sanitize the IV room and equipment under sterile protocol.
- 9Service facility-based dispensing machines like Omnicell, troubleshooting and restocking as needed.
Requirements6
- 1High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2Valid Pharmacy Technician license as required by state law.
- 31+ year experience in a pharmacy setting with knowledge of medical terminology.
- 4Ability to operate a computer and accurately recognize and identify medications.
- 5Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, team player with effective oral communication skills.
- 6Willingness to work Monday-Friday between 8am and 8pm PST.
