What You'll Do11
- 1Contribute to optical system design for imaging and sensing applications including refractive reflective optics and athermalized systems
- 2Perform optical performance analyses covering wavefront error MTF LOS stability boresight sensitivity and tolerancing
- 3Develop optical error budgets addressing alignment manufacturing thermal and structural effects
- 4Conduct Structurally Induced Line of Sight analysis with structural and thermal analysts
- 5Define optical requirements and allocate tolerances across system subsystem and component levels
- 6Guide optomechanical design development for mounts cells and structures supporting optical alignment stability
- 7Create parametric 3D CAD models detailed drawings and documentation for opto-mechanical requirements
- 8Support laboratory and environmental test activities including optical alignment calibration and performance verification
- 9Participate in design reviews presenting optical concepts analyses and test results to stakeholders
- 10Troubleshoot prototype and production hardware issues related to optical performance
- 11Assist with STOP SILOS modeling workflows integrating structural thermal results with optical design tools
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering Physics Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 5 years relevant experience
- 2Secret security clearance required at time of application
- 3Demonstrated experience with optical systems in imaging sensing or seeker applications
- 4Proficiency with optical modeling tools such as ZEMAX Code V FRED or equivalent
- 5Experience with 3D CAD tools like CREO NX SolidWorks and ANSYS Mechanical
- 6Experience with optical imaging systems across multiple spectral bands
- 7Strong technical communication skills for documentation and presentations
- 8Master's or PhD preferred with focus on optical systems
- 9Previous experience with DoD missile defense or seeker programs including performance verification frameworks
- 10Hands-on experience with STOP SILOS modeling workflows
- 11Background in high-reliability electro-optical applications and missile systems
