Power Integrity Engineer, iPhone Hardware
Overview
You will own power distribution network design and analysis for iPhone products, modeling DC-DC converters and optimizing system performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on Power Architecture, Electrical, and Thermal engineering. This role blends hands-on simulation, board-level validation, and system bring-up in a fast-evolving hardware environment. You will shape the power delivery of Apple's most iconic devices.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and analyze power delivery networks, modeling DC-DC converters and PDN impedance.
- 2Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Power Architecture, IP specifications, and passive selection.
- 3Optimize performance with Electrical and Thermal engineering teams through co-design.
- 4Perform design feasibility studies, create test plans, and drive system bring-up.
- 5Provide design guidelines for system architecture, board layout, and product bring-up.
- 6Debug and validate power integrity issues using EM simulation tools like HFSS and SIWave.
- 7Develop scripting tools in Python to automate simulation and data analysis.
- 8Drive factory build support and resolve power-related yield issues.
Requirements9
- 13+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor's in EE, or 7+ years with MSEE/PhD.
- 2Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering and problem solving.
- 3Proven experience in power integrity analysis including modeling, verification, and correlation.
- 4Hands-on experience with layout planning and routing strategies.
- 5Expertise in EM and circuit simulation tools: Ansys HFSS/Maxwell/SIWave, CST, ADS/Spice/Spectre, Cadence/Sigrity.
- 6Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Perl.
- 7Hands-on experience with board-level testing and lab equipment: near-field scanning, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, scopes.
- 8Ability to relate electrical performance to physical layout.
- 9Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
