Physical Therapist, Pediatric Sports & Orthopedics
Overview
Own pediatric outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy services from assessment through discharge at a leading children’s hospital. Work with school-age through young adults, coordinating with families and multidisciplinary teams to optimize function and return to activity. Collaborate with physicians and rehab staff to deliver evidence-based care and ensure compliant documentation and billing practices. This role differentiates by focus on pediatric development, family-centered care, and a comprehensive care continuum.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build patient evaluation plans and implement treatment modalities including electrical stimulation and joint and soft tissue mobilization to reach functional goals
- 2Design and adjust sport-specific rehabilitation programs for pediatric patients to maximize return-to-play timelines within defined milestones
- 3Lead patient/family education and home program coaching to sustain progress after discharge and improve community participation
- 4Coordinate care with other disciplines and community resources to optimize plan of care and improve outcomes
- 5Supervise rehab technicians and students and participate in in-service training and discharge planning
Requirements5
- 1Complete evaluation and treatment of pediatric orthopedic and sports injuries with evidence-based practices
- 2Adhere to hospital policies, standards, and documentation requirements including Joint Commission and CARF guidelines
- 3Demonstrate knowledge of pediatric development and athletic activity and apply family-centered care principles
- 4Maintain appropriate and timely documentation and participate in quality management initiatives
- 5Possess ability to bill and code accurately for outpatient rehab services and revenue cycle
