Physical Therapist Assistant PTA Home Health
Overview
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Banner Home Health, you will own 5-6 routine visits daily under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, treating a wide variety of clinical conditions including post-op orthopedic patients, neuro rehab, and cardiac issues. You will work autonomously with 1:1 patient care, supported by a robust clinical team including QI specialists and documentation support specialists. This role offers a four-star home care agency with a track record for quality excellence, and the largest skilled home care agency in Phoenix. You will collaborate with a growing therapy team integrated with Banner's network of hospitals and physicians.
What You'll Do8
- 1Administer physical therapy treatment according to the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist, implementing individualized treatment plans considering patient's physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age-specific needs.
- 2Monitor ongoing effectiveness of treatment and collaborate with the Physical Therapist in modifying the plan of care when indicated, prioritizing key limiting factors and participating in discharge planning.
- 3Document according to standards set by the department and regulatory agencies, completing documentation within established time frames, reflecting comprehensive assessment of patient progress.
- 4Communicate treatment results and patient progress to physicians, nurses, patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, defending treatment rationale with standard practices and current literature.
- 5Demonstrate adaptability in assignments related to caseload, scheduling, and staffing shifts, taking initiative to assist in other patient care areas.
- 6Supervise and delegate to Therapy Technicians and PTA students, ensuring competency prior to task delegation and participating in training and orientation of new personnel.
- 7Attend required staff meetings and participate in department/facility process improvement, meeting productivity standards.
- 8Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts regarding patient health care, reporting and clarifying information.
Requirements5
- 1Graduated from a Physical Therapy Assistant program accredited by APTA or equivalent.
- 2Hold a current Physical Therapy Assistant license from the state seeking practice.
- 3Possess BLS certification.
- 4Have Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire (for Banner Home Care AZ).
- 5Minimum of one year experience as a Therapy Assistant preferred (for Registry and Travel positions).
