Overview

You will execute the plasmapheresis process at an Octapharma plasma center in Raleigh, NC, performing venipunctures and operating automated collection machines. You will ensure compliance with FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP, maintain donor safety and product quality, and handle documentation and equipment maintenance. This contract role offers formal training and direct exposure to regulatory standards in a high-volume medical environment.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Perform venipunctures and plasma collections, monitoring donor safety and comfort throughout each procedure.
  • 2Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, responding to alarms, alerts, and adverse events per SOPs.
  • 3Maintain regulatory compliance with FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP standards to uphold production quality.
  • 4Stock and replenish supplies, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • 5Verify donor identification and maintain confidentiality in accordance with SOPs.
  • 6Calibrate and maintain plasmapheresis equipment, performing daily, weekly, and monthly quality controls.
  • 7Document all procedures accurately, including machine logs and exception reports.
  • 8Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and take equipment out of service as needed.
  • 9Dispose of biohazard waste and contaminated supplies following safety protocols.
  • 10Drive training efficiencies and complete required documentation for compliance.

Requirements10

  • 1High school diploma or GED.
  • 23+ months experience in a medical or healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties prior to independent performance.
  • 4State-required certification or license for phlebotomy, such as CPC or Phlebotomy Technician.
  • 5Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • 6Basic computer knowledge and ability to produce accurate documentation.
  • 7Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • 8Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and use PPE.
  • 9Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens; ability to enter environments at -40°C per SOPs.
  • 10Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
