You will own the complete plasma collection process at a high-volume CSL Plasma center, performing venipuncture and managing pheresis procedures to ensure donor safety and product quality. You will work with a team of phlebotomists and nurses, reporting to the Group Leader or Supervisor, in a fast-paced clinical environment. What You'll Do9

  • 1Perform venipuncture on donors to initiate the pheresis process, following SOPs and FDA guidelines, and monitor the procedure to ensure safety and quality.
  • 2Evaluate donor vein performance, make necessary corrections to expedite donation time, and adjust the process to create a positive donor experience.
  • 3Educate new donors on screening steps, health tests, appointment systems, donation fees, center policies, and proper nutrition, answering all questions accurately.
  • 4Monitor donors for adverse reactions, assist with reactions, and document incidents using a PDA, including machine alerts, volume variances, and adverse events.
  • 5Troubleshoot equipment failures, perform calibrations, verify maintenance per SOPs, and create incident documentation, removing or replacing equipment as needed.
  • 6Manage donor flow on the floor to ensure continuous turnover, alerting the Group Leader or Supervisor of any issues.
  • 7Collect arm or whole blood samples for testing, and accurately record donor data in the electronic SOP-based system.
  • 8Maintain a clean, efficient work environment, ensure sufficient supplies, and follow HSE and OSHA policies, promoting safety in all actions.
  • 9Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information, and assist with hyper immune program policies if applicable.

Requirements8

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 212+ months experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3For CA centers: state Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or Registered Nurse license required.
  • 4Ability to follow SOPs and FDA regulations precisely.
  • 5Strong venipuncture skills and knowledge of pheresis procedures.
  • 6Excellent communication skills to interact with donors and team members.
  • 7Ability to troubleshoot equipment and respond to donor reactions quickly.
  • 8Bilingual skills may be required at the discretion of the organization.
