Overview
Phlebotomist will perform blood draws specimen handling and labeling at an on site Austin facility. You will work with pediatric and geriatric patients ensuring proper specimen transport and temperature control. You will join a contract team focused on maintaining sample integrity and accurate patient data. This role offers a collaborative clinical environment with direct supervision and clear protocols.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform blood draws and specimen labeling for test orders
- 2Label centrifuge tubes and split or freeze specimens per protocol
- 3Package specimens for transport and track storage conditions
- 4Maintain accurate patient information and decontamination logs
- 5Store specimens at required temperatures and ensure correct collection containers are used
- 6Follow specific transport protocols to preserve specimen integrity
- 7Record maintenance data and update lab information in systems
- 8Collaborate with hospital staff to meet test order requirements
- 9Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- 10Support team with documentation and workflow improvements
Requirements6
- 15+ months of phlebotomy experience in lab or hospital setting
- 2Pediatric and geriatric experience preferred
- 3Phlebotomy certification preferred
- 4Must be located near Austin Texas and onsite
- 5Contract position based in Manchaca TX
- 6Ability to perform blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and specimen transport according to protocol
