Phlebotomist, Labcorp & Actalent LA — CPT Licensed Blood Draw Specialist
Overview
Phlebotomist will own patient venipuncture and specimen processing for a leading diagnostics company at a Manhattan Beach onsite site. You will perform accurate blood collection across age groups, label and document specimens, and support workflow improvements in a fast paced clinical lab environment. You will join a collaborative lab operations team focused on safe, compliant specimen handling. This role offers exposure to inpatient and outpatient settings and opportunities to grow through training and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build precise venipuncture collections using straight and butterfly needles with a high standard of patient care
- 2Collect and transport blood, urine, fecal, and other specimens per established procedures and protocols
- 3Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients to ensure comfort and understanding
- 4Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify information accuracy
- 5Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders while maintaining specimen integrity
- 6Check test requisitions against labels to ensure 100 accuracy before processing or transport
- 7Package specimens for transport following protocols to preserve chain of custody
- 8Store specimens at required temperatures and in appropriate containers with correct labeling
- 9Follow procedures for specimen transport to preserve quality and reliability
- 10Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab environment through decontamination and record keeping
Requirements7
- 1Valid CPT License
- 2Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
- 3Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
- 4High School Diploma or GED
- 5Onsite work 5 days per week
- 6Ability to work in Manhattan Beach, CA on contract
- 7Experience with adult and pediatric specimen processing
