Phlebotomist, Lab Diagnostics Santa Monica & Onsite Contract
Overview
Own phlebotomy operations in a fast paced diagnostics environment at Labcorp Santa Monica. You will collect, label, and process specimens with strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Collaborate with laboratory teams to troubleshoot workflow and support patient care across ages. This contract role offers exposure to leading diagnostics and the chance to grow with a large, patient focused lab.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build patient friendly venipuncture experiences using straight and butterfly needles with high accuracy
- 2Ship and process specimens including blood urine and fecal per established SOPs while maintaining specimen integrity
- 3Explain the venipuncture and collection process clearly to patients to ensure understanding and comfort
- 4Match laboratory requisitions to specimens and verify information accuracy
- 5Label centrifuge split and freeze specimens as required by test orders
- 6Check test requisitions or labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy before processing or transport
- 7Package specimens for transport following protocols to maintain chain of custody
- 8Store samples at required temperatures and ensure correct labeling
- 9Follow procedures for specimen transport to preserve quality and reliability
- 10Attend annual trainings and stay current on regulatory requirements and safety standards

- 1Valid CPT license
- 25 days per week onsite required
- 36+ months of inpatient or outpatient blood draw experience
- 4Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
- 5High School Diploma or GED
