What You'll Do9
- 1Obtain blood and non-blood specimens such as urine sputum and throat swabs for laboratory testing
- 2Use straight needles and draw over 50 times per day
- 3Draw blood on patients ranging from infants to geriatrics
- 4Work in a hectic setting while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- 5Label specimens and manage all processing steps according to protocol
- 6Process specimens for laboratory analysis
- 7Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- 8Follow strict safety guidelines to prevent contamination
- 9Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely delivery of results
Requirements11
- 1Minimum 2 years of experience outside of school required
- 25+ years experience with specimen collection techniques
- 3Proficiency in using automated collection devices
- 4Ability to handle high volume of specimens daily
- 5Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- 6Valid phlebotomy certification preferred
- 7Excellent communication skills for patient interactions
- 8Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
- 9Reliable transportation to work location
- 10Willingness to pass background check
- 11Commitment to confidentiality and privacy standards
