What You'll Do8
- 1Draw blood samples from patients using venipuncture, capillary, and fingerstick techniques.
- 2Label and prepare specimens for lab testing, verifying patient identity and chain of custody.
- 3Explain procedures to patients to ease anxiety and build trust.
- 4Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment following OSHA guidelines.
- 5Record patient information and test data accurately in the LIS system.
- 6Handle pediatric and geriatric patients with specialized collection methods.
- 7Perform point-of-care testing as needed.
- 8Adapt to rotating assignments across multiple clinics, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in CA, NV, and WA.
- 42 years in a Patient Service Center preferred.
- 5Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- 6Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel.
- 7Availability for on-call, weekends, and overtime.
- 8Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
