Pharmacy Technician, Retail Pharmacy Support
Overview
As a Pharmacy Technician at ACME Markets, you own the customer pharmacy experience across our network of 1,732 pharmacies. You support licensed pharmacists with prescription fulfillment, patient interaction, and immunization administration (where state law allows). What You'll Do8
- 1Greet patients at the pickup window and drive-thru, verifying prescriptions and answering questions about dosage and side effects.
- 2Count, measure, and package medications under pharmacist supervision, using pharmacy management software to track orders.
- 3Resolve insurance billing issues with PBM portals and prior authorization workflows to expedite patient access.
- 4Administer immunizations (where certified) to patients and document them in the state registry.
- 5Manage incoming prescription orders via phone, fax, and e-prescribing, prioritizing urgent requests.
- 6Restock shelves and rotate inventory, checking expiration dates and DEA inventory logs.
- 7Collaborate with pharmacists on medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- 8Train new technicians on store procedures and ACME's pharmacy systems.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or GED
- 20-2 years experience in retail or healthcare (training provided for entry-level candidates)
- 3Active Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to obtain one within 90 days
- 4Strong math skills for accurate prescription calculations
- 5Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 25 lbs
- 6Comfort using computer systems and learning new software
- 7Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
