Overview
You'll own the pharmacy experience for patients at a Safeway store in San Francisco, supporting pharmacists and keeping prescriptions flowing. What You'll Do10
- 1Greet patients and process prescriptions accurately with PharmTech software.
- 2Prepare and label medications for pharmacist verification, ensuring correct dosage and instructions.
- 3Manage inventory by stocking shelves and checking expiration dates on Rx medications.
- 4Handle insurance claims and resolve billing issues with Third Party payers.
- 5Provide immunizations after completing state-approved training, where allowed by law.
- 6Assist patients with over-the-counter product questions and refer to pharmacists when needed.
- 7Keep the pharmacy clean and organized per OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- 8Support pharmacists with daily tasks and maintain patient confidentiality.
- 9Educate patients on medication storage and usage, promoting adherence.
- 10Process payments and manage cash register duties accurately.
Requirements9
- 1Current, valid Pharmacy Technician license for the state of CA.
- 21+ year retail or customer service experience, ideally in pharmacy.
- 3Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hour shifts.
- 4Strong attention to detail and math skills for dosage calculations.
- 5Familiarity with Rx systems and insurance verification.
- 6Commitment to following privacy and safety regulations.
- 7Willingness to obtain immunizer certification within 30 days of hire.
- 8Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
