Pharmacy Technician, Retail Pharmacy Operations
Overview
You will own pharmacy operations at one of CVS Health’s retail locations, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment while delivering exceptional patient care. As part of a pharmacy team, you’ll work across all workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) and support immunizations. What You'll Do10
- 1Follow SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists in managing patient health and improving outcomes.
- 2Execute prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- 3Greet patients with empathy, offer immunizations, and resolve or escalate issues to create a positive experience.
- 4Complete inventory tasks: put away deliveries, run cycle counts, track returns-to-stock, and maintain waiting bin accuracy.
- 5Contribute to team performance by embracing feedback and seeking opportunities to expand clinical knowledge.
- 6Stay flexible for scheduling and travel to other stores in the market as business needs require.
- 7Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, CVS policies, and patient privacy standards.
- 8Support additional services like immunizations and point-of-care testing after completing required training.
- 9Prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, monitor for adverse reactions, and document per public health requirements.
- 10Manage vaccine supplies, track patient information, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements10
- 1Must meet state Board of Pharmacy requirements for age, education, and licensure.
- 2If no state age mandate, must be at least 16 years old.
- 3If no state education mandate, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be enrolled in a high school equivalency program.
- 41-3 years of pharmacy technician experience (preferred).
- 5Prior experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service (preferred).
- 6Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- 7Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- 8Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
- 9Basic math skills for prescription calculations (e.g., day’s supply, bottle counts).
- 10Physical ability to stand, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
