The Pharmacokinetics Scientist leads lab-based bioanalytical efforts for small molecules and peptides at Merck's Boston Research Labs. What You'll Do8
- 1Utilize state-of-the-art liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry approaches to quantitate drug levels in various in vitro and in vivo matrices in support of PK and PK/PD efforts
- 2Analyze quantitative data to estimate pharmacokinetic parameters across therapeutic areas
- 3Collaborate with PDMB subject-matter experts in Boston MA South San Francisco CA and West Point PA
- 4Develop new bioanalytical methods and maintain instruments using LC/MS platforms
- 5Present findings at departmental meetings and promote company science through publications
- 6Drive method optimization and efficient utilization of data processing platforms
- 7Perform sample preparation using protein precipitation liquid/liquid extraction and solid-phase extraction techniques
- 8Maintain Good Laboratory Practices and adhere to GLPs throughout analytical processes
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry chemistry pharmacology pharmaceutical sciences biology chemical engineering biomedical engineering or related STEM field with 3+ years relevant postgraduate laboratory experience or MS degree and 0+ years of experience
- 2Proven experience utilizing liquid-chromatography/mass spectrometry platforms to quantify small molecules and/or peptides from various in vitro and in vivo matrices
- 3Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks Watson LIMS and record-keeping systems
- 4Strong interpersonal communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities
- 5Ability to design interpret and troubleshoot complex experiments for drug metabolism studies
